Shopmobility is independence.
Shopmobility is a service to help those people who experience limited mobility, whether temporary or permanent, to keep their independence. We lend out manual wheel chairs and 3 and 4 wheel scooters so that all can get to the shops, stalls and services.
Shopmobility Ashton-under-Lyne is very central.
We
are situated in the second entrance to the Market hall (coming from the Town
Hall)
Membership
of Shopmobility Ashton-under-Lyne is £10 per year with no extra charge for use
of vehicles. Members of other Shopmobility schemes are welcome with a charge of
£2.50 per booking.
Becoming a member is simple.
Bring some formal I.D. (driving licence, passport, etc.) and a passport size photo for your membership card. Complete a short registration form, pay the fee and that’s it.
Our
friendly staff are on hand to give help and advice on the right vehicle to
choose, and after a little practice you have the freedom to tour the shops and
facilities of Ashton-under-Lyne town centre.
